While for lovers of French film, actress Arletty may have claimed word “scenery” for her own when uttering her famous line in the 1938 film Hôtel du Nord, this corner of Paris’s 19th district has it in abundance thanks to the Buttes Chaumont park, the immense Parc de la Villette - Cités de la Musique et des Sciences complex, its ‘follies’ and its Zenith, all accessible by foot, and to the stores that line Rue de Meaux, from the excellent Laumière fishmongers to the cheese emporium on Rue Secrétan and the market of the same name, open every day of the week….
