Brimming with talent

It would be difficult to list the many museums, festivals, theatres and exhibition spaces there are here without falling into a seemingly endless index even author Jacques Prévert would have been proud of. That’s because Nice is a city of culture. Or, more exactly, a city of Art and Culture - in plural and in capital letters - where you can discover wonderful new faces and new artistic expressions as well as more widely renowned artists, sometimes right outside your door.
The Albert 1er Gardens with their marquee theatre, hosting concerts by some of the biggest names in world music, are right nearby, while the Mamac museum of modern and contemporary art and the TNN (Théâtre national de Nice) are just a few hundred meters away. As for the Théâtre de la photographie, a mecca for lovers of traditional and contemporary photography, you’ll find right next door, on Boulevard Dubouchage.
And how could we not mention the Matisse and Chagall museums in Cimiez, the conferences held at the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen or those of the École du Louvre, or educational establishments such as the Conservatoire National de Région or the schools of art?!



Good to know :
- Nice carnival takes place every year at the end of February, injecting new life into the city with 9 days of processions and parades.
- At the end of July, the Nice Jazz Festival takes place in Cimiez Park. An “off” festival program of events accompanies the Festival in the city’s various districts.
