I love its distinctive character

The district of Saint-German, described so well by Boris Vian in his Manual of Saint-Germain-des-Prés . (published by Rizzoli), possesses a singular atmosphere linked both to its history and its small superbly restored 17th and 18th century buildings.
Painstaking restoration is also what has enabled this fine complex to regain its typically Parisian cachet with its tall windows made up of tiny square panes, its finely worked railings and fabulous zinc roof.
